Service Upgrade

Need to upgrade your electrical service to accommodate your growing power needs?

Our electricians can assess your current system and provide effective solutions to meet your requirements. We ensure that all upgrades are in compliance with local electrical codes.

200A Service Upgrade:

  • Amperage Rating: A 200A service upgrade involves replacing the existing electrical service panel with one rated at 200 amperes (A). The amperage rating indicates the maximum electrical capacity the panel can handle.

  • Common Reasons: Upgrading to a 200A service is often necessary when adding new appliances, circuits, or electrical loads to a home or building. It provides additional capacity to meet the growing power demands of modern households or businesses.

  • Benefits: A 200A service upgrade increases the safety and reliability of the electrical system. It reduces the risk of overloaded circuits, tripped breakers, and electrical fires. It also allows for the installation of larger electrical loads, such as electric vehicle chargers or larger HVAC systems.

  • Installation: The upgrade involves replacing the existing electrical panel with a larger one, along with associated wiring and breakers. It may also require upgrading the incoming service from the utility, including the service drop and meter socket

400A Residential Service Upgrade:

  • Amperage Rating: A 400A residential service upgrade involves replacing the existing electrical service panel with one rated at 400 amperes (A). This offers even greater electrical capacity than a 200A upgrade.

  • Residential Use: 400A service upgrades in residential properties are relatively uncommon and are typically reserved for large, high-demand homes, or properties with unique requirements. These upgrades are more common in commercial and industrial settings.

  • Reasons: In residential settings, 400A service upgrades might be necessary for exceptionally large homes with extensive lighting, heating, and cooling systems, or for properties with multiple accessory structures like guesthouses or workshops.

  • Installation: A 400A residential service upgrade is a substantial undertaking, often requiring not only the replacement of the service panel but also the upgrade of the entire electrical service infrastructure, including heavy-duty wiring and utility service equipment.
